(Updated tonight 15th Muharram, 1447AH (9th of July, 2025), on the passing of Ash-Shaykh Rabee bn Umayr al-Madkhalee, may Allaah forgive him and admit him to Jannah).
A narrator from Shaykh Aadam al-Ethiopi said:
Sh.Muhammad Ali Adam Al-Ethiopi on the noble Shaykh Rabee.
From that which my ears heard and my heart grasped in this blessed night from our Shaykh, the great scholar, Mohammad bin Aadam Al-Ethiopi (rahmatullaah alayhi):
'I was beside our Shaykh in Masjid-ul-Haraam between the prayers of Maghrib and 'Ishaa when one of the brothers from the eastern province came asking our Shaykh about Shaykh Rabee Al Madkhalee. And from the answer which Shaykh gave to the brother was: "Shaykh Rabee is a scholar from among the scholars [among the followers] of the Salaf in this age, and he defends the creed of the Salaf, I love him and he loves me. I call him Shu'bah (bn Hajjaaj) of this age, Shu'bah bin Hajjaj; Shaykh Rabee is Shu'bah bin Hajjaaj of this age. As for those who vilify and accuse him of harshness, then he has preceding example for that from among the scholars. And no one opposes him except the misguided ones."
And he also said to questioner: "Go to Shaykh Rabee' and give him salaam and say to him that you asked Mohammad 'Ali Aadam Al Ethiopi about him and he said: Shaykh Rabee' is Shu'bah bin Hajjaaj of this age"
Saturday, 7th Ramadaan 1435H, in The Holy Sanctuary of Makkah, related from the brother Naasir Baruways [Parvez], which was posted by Shaykh Fawaz Al Madkhalee.
