Bismillaahir Rahmaanir Raheem
This is an exposition from scholars' statements regarding a topic that has been causing some rumpus in the ranks of some people of Sunnah in South West Nigeria.
This exposition is in three parts. The first part bothers on the fact that matter of Jar'h Wa Ta'deel (praise and disparagement of individuals) is Ijithaad meaning that it goes down to the scholarly efforts of scholars, it may be right or otherwise. The second part is about the impermissiblity of forcing a scholar's opinion on the rest of the Ummah in a matter of Ijithaad. The third part bothers on the fact that it is only when scholars agree on the disparagement of an individual that it becomes binding on all.
The compilation and arrangement is by one of the teachers of Sunnah in South West Nigeria, may Allaah reward him best.
The translation is done by Aboo Aamir Ishaaq bn Abdurraheem. The original Arabic text goes hand-in-hand with the translation without any addition or subtraction.
You will find it worthy of reading Inshaa Allaah.
