All praise to Allâh; only Him is worthy of worship. May the choicest benediction be upon the best of Mankind.
Allâh the Mighty Lord said:
مَا كَانَ اللَّهُ لِيَذَرَ الْمُؤْمِنِينَ عَلَى مَا أَنْتُمْ عَلَيْهِ حَتَّى يَمِيزَ الْخَبِيثَ مِنَ الطَّيِّبِ
“Allâh will not leave the believers in the state in which You are now, until He distinguishes the wicked from the good...” [Aal-Imraan: 179].
Ibn Kathîr – may Allâh bestow mercy on him – commented on the above Aayah:
لا بُد أن يعقد سببا من المحنة، يظهر فيه وليه، ويفتضح فيه عدوه. يُعرف به المؤمن الصابر، والمنافق الفاجر
‘That is, there is bound to be a form of test whereby Allâh will make known His true friend and expose His enemy; the patient believer will be known while the wicked hypocrite will be discovered.’
The meaning is that a person can hide under a good cause to cause harm about but he will never stay forever hidden; one day he will be found out.
Allâh the Mighty Lord says:
وَقُلِ اعْمَلُوا فَسَيَرَى اللَّهُ عَمَلَكُمْ وَرَسُولُهُ وَالْمُؤْمِنُونَ
“And Say (O Muhammad ) "Do deeds! Allâh will see your deeds, and (so will) his Messenger and the believers... " [Taubah: 105]
Mujâhid – may Allâh bestow mercy on him – said:
هذا وَعيد، يعني من الله تعالى للمخالفين أوامره بأن أعمالهم ستعرَضُ عليه تبارك وتعالى، وعلى الرسول، وعلى المؤمنين. وهذا كائن لا محالة يوم القيامة
‘This is a threat from Allâh the Mighty to the opposers (of the truth of Islam), and opposers of Allâh’s commands that their deeds shall be made known to Him the Blessed, and to the Messenger and the believers. This shall occur, no doubt, on the Day of Resurrection.’
Ibn Kathîr – may Allâh bestow mercy on him – added:
وقد يظهر ذلك للناس في الدنيا
‘That may also be made to the people on earth (before Qiyaamah.’
How often has that been!
So let the wrongdoer carry on with his wrong doing! Time will tell.
But let him also be aware that Salafiyyah is no hypocrisy. Just as those who know among Ahlus-Sunnah will join hands to punish the enemy without, they will never shy away from punishing the one(s) within because they know the latter are worse and more ominous.
It is a matter of time.
The door of Taubah is still open to all of us.
وَتُوبُوا إِلَى اللَّهِ جَمِيعًا أَيُّهَا الْمُؤْمِنُونَ لَعَلَّكُمْ تُفْلِحُونَ
“and all of you beg Allâh to forgive you all, O believers, that you may be successful...” [Nûr: 31].
O Allâh! We ask You for a good end, none can grant that except You.
